Watch: how escrow protects this deal

Nobody has to go first. The payment waits in escrow while the buyer checks the delivery. Here is every step in two minutes.

  • The buyer pays into escrow before anything is handed over
  • The seller delivers inside the deal, on the record
  • The seller is paid when the buyer confirms, or after 30 days without a dispute

How to buy a gaming YouTube channel

A gaming channel's audience may be attached to one game, one creator or a format that is hard to reproduce. Watch the recent uploads before deciding how you would continue it.

Illustration of video-channel analytics and a protected ownership transfer

Find the real subject

Look at which games and formats produce views. A channel built around a single title may need a new plan when interest in that title fades.

Check the production assets

Ask who owns the gameplay recordings, voiceover, thumbnails and editing files. Third-party music or reused clips may affect what you can keep publishing.

Review current status

Check recent analytics, any copyright claims and monetization inside YouTube Studio. Confirm what the seller will transfer. Don't count a linked Discord server as part of the sale, since Discord's rules forbid buying or selling servers.

Streams, highlights and who is on camera

Gaming channels that grew on live streams usually have an audience attached to the streamer's voice, humour and the regulars in chat. If you buy a gaming YouTube channel like that, the viewers may not stay for a new host. Ask what share of recent views comes from streams, from edited highlights and from Shorts cut out of them. Channels built on edited gameplay with little commentary, or a style anyone could match, move to a new owner more easily. If the seller's face or name is part of the brand, agree how the change will be announced, or whether it will be announced at all.

Compilation and clip channels

Some gaming channels post other people's clips, montages of streamers or gameplay recorded by someone else. YouTube's Partner Program policy on reused content is aimed at this kind of upload, and a channel full of it can lose monetization or never get it. Copyright claims are a separate risk, since music playing in a game, a streamer's clip or a trailer can each draw one. Look at the claims shown in Studio for the videos that bring most of the views. If the best performers carry claims, ask the seller what each claim does to those videos' earnings.

Update cycles and quiet months

Views on a gaming channel follow the games. A big patch, a new season or a sequel can lift traffic for a few weeks before it falls back. Ask for twelve months of views in Studio so you see the full cycle, and be wary of a listing timed just after a spike. Check which upcoming releases the channel's audience cares about and whether you can cover them quickly. A channel tied to a game that has stopped receiving updates is a weaker buy, because fewer people will search for that game as players move on.

Linked Discord servers and social accounts

Many gaming channels link a Discord server, a Twitch page or an X account in their descriptions. Treat each as its own question. Discord's Platform Manipulation Policy says not to buy or sell servers, so don't put a price on the server or count it as part of the channel's value. For other platforms, check their own rules and list in the deal chat exactly which accounts are included. Update the links in the channel's descriptions and About section after the handover, or they will keep sending viewers to the seller's profiles.

Payment held during delivery

Check the handover against the listing. Open a dispute if something is missing.

What to check before confirming receipt

  • Gameplay recordings, overlays and editing project files listed in the deal chat have been shared with you and open correctly.
  • The videos bringing in most recent views show no unresolved copyright claims when you check them in Studio.
  • Channel art, intros and watermarks that carry the seller's gamer tag were handed over or replaced as agreed.
  • Links in descriptions and the About section no longer send viewers to the seller's Discord, Twitch or social profiles.
  • You are primary owner of the Brand Account, and the previous creator holds no owner or manager role.

Common questions

Not necessarily. Compare how earlier topic changes performed and read comments to see what viewers came for.
Only to the extent the seller owns and transfers the relevant rights. Put content rights in the deal terms.
Recent views, returning viewers, production demands and the channel's standing all affect its usefulness.
Gaming channels listed on Escrozon appear at the top of this page. You pay into escrow, agree the handover in the deal chat and confirm receipt once you are primary owner and hold the files you were promised. Listings come from sellers and Escrozon doesn't check them, so look at the Studio figures yourself.
Yes, once you own it. Live viewers tend to follow a streamer more than a channel, so expect fewer regulars in chat at first. Try a few streams in the channel's usual game and time slot before changing the format, and compare the turnout with the seller's recent streams.
They can. In-game music, licensed soundtracks, trailers and clips from other creators can all draw claims. Ask the seller to show the claims listed in Studio and explain any on the top videos before you pay.
Escrozon holds payment during delivery and inspection. Review the listing and check what you receive before confirming. If there is a problem, open a dispute within the deal; if you neither confirm nor dispute, payment may be released to the seller 30 days after delivery starts.
Document the difference in the deal and open a dispute before confirming receipt. A moderator reviews the listing, chat and evidence from both sides. The outcome depends on that review; a refund is not automatic.
