The red flags that come up again and again in account deals, and how Phoenix AI flags scam patterns in the deal chat so both sides see the warning.
An older registration date tells you when an account began, not how it has been used. Ask for evidence of its history and current access before paying a premium for age.

Check whether the account has been active, what groups it belongs to and whether Telegram has limited any functions. An old account can still have a poor history.
A login session is not the same as control of the phone number or recovery settings. Agree on every credential and security change needed for lasting access.
Ask the seller to demonstrate the account offered in the listing. Check the username, registration evidence and any included channels separately.
Aged is a seller's word, like HQ. Telegram doesn't certify account age, and two sellers can use the label for very different things. One may mean the account was registered years ago and used daily. Another may mean it was created months back and left untouched. Ask the seller what date they're claiming and what evidence they can show in the live app, and get the answer in the deal chat. An account that sat empty for years has age but no history. It has no contacts or groups, nothing that shows how it was used. That may suit you, but you shouldn't pay for history it doesn't have.
Older accounts usually come with a number, and that number is what Telegram treats as the account. Find out whether it can move to yours through Change Number in Settings, and whether the seller still holds the SIM. If the number stays behind, you own a login on an account somebody else can still reach, however long ago it was registered. Some sellers can't move the number at all. Ask which case applies before you pay, and treat an account without its number as worth less than one you can fully move to your own SIM.
Age doesn't change Telegram's session rule. When you sign in on your own phone or computer, that device can't end the account's other sessions for up to 24 hours, while the seller's older login can still sign you out. Plan the escrow timeline around that day. Sign in, leave the account alone, and on the second day open Settings > Devices, end every session you don't recognise and set your own 2-step verification password. If the seller's session removes yours during the wait, note the time in the deal chat. Confirming receipt comes last, after the account is locked down.
Sellers sometimes pitch aged accounts as safer for outreach. Telegram's terms ban spam and scams, and an account reported for unwanted messages can be limited or banned whatever its registration year. Messaging strangers in bulk is the quickest way to lose the account you paid for. Use it the way its earlier owner apparently did: contacts you know, groups you take part in, a steady pace. If the listing hints that the account suits mass messaging, take that as a warning about how it was used before, and ask whether it has ever been limited.
