Introduction

Buying or selling an X account, the platform formerly called Twitter? Here's how to make the handover safe, whichever side you're on.

Nobody wants to go first

With an X account, the login changes hands, so nobody wants to go first. Escrow fixes the order: the buyer's payment is held first, and it's only released once the account is theirs.

Buyers: check the account

As a buyer, look past the follower count. Check recent posts, impressions and engagement, and watch for sudden jumps in followers. Check the join date on the profile too.

Buyers: ask before you pay

Before you pay, ask the seller in the deal chat. Is the original email included? Is a phone number linked? Are there any warnings or restrictions? And is the blue check a paid subscription?

Buyers: pay into escrow

When you're happy, choose Buy with Escrow Protection. You pay the price plus the escrow fee, and your money is held, not sent to the seller.

Buyers: take full control

When the login arrives, secure the account straight away. Change the password and the email to your own. Remove the seller's phone number, set up your own two-factor, and log out every other session.

Buyers: what doesn't transfer

Some things don't come with the account. The blue check is a paid Premium subscription, billed to whoever pays for it. Changing the name, photo or handle hides the check while X reviews it. And creator payouts belong to the owner's own payout account.

Buyers: confirm or dispute

Only when the password, email, phone and two-factor are all yours, confirm receipt. If something's wrong, don't confirm. Open a dispute, and the money stays frozen while a moderator reviews it.

Sellers: list it honestly

As a seller, listing is free. Describe the account honestly: the followers, the niche, the join date and recent reach, with fresh screenshots. And say whether the original email is included.

Sellers: wait for funds held

When a buyer pays, wait until the deal shows funds held. Only then share the login, inside the deal chat, so the whole handover is on record.

Sellers: hand over completely

Then hand over completely. Help the buyer change the email, remove your phone number and your two-factor, and cancel any Premium you pay for. After that, stay out of the account.

Sellers: get paid

When the buyer confirms receipt, your price is released to your wallet. And if the buyer never responds, it's released automatically, thirty days after delivery starts.

Know before you start

One more thing to know. X's rules don't allow accounts or usernames to be bought or sold, and X can suspend an account for it. Escrow protects the payment between you, not the account from X.

That's how to buy and sell an X account safely. Find your next deal at escrozon.com.

Timing note: the narration describes the normal path. If the buyer neither confirms nor opens a dispute within 30 days of delivery starting, escrow releases the payment to the seller automatically.
