The hard part of selling software privately is that the buyer wants to inspect the code and you cannot show it without giving it away. Escrow resolves that: the buyer's money is collected and held before the handover, and released once they confirm they received what you described. List your tool below.

Prepare the package first

Buyers pay more for something they can actually run. Have the source, prompts, environment variables, deployment steps and a short setup guide ready before listing. A tool that takes a buyer a week to get working attracts lower offers and more disputes than one that starts in an afternoon.

Document the running costs honestly

Every buyer will ask what it costs to operate. Give real figures for model API spend, hosting and third-party services. Understating them is the fastest route to a dispute after funds are in escrow, and it rarely survives even basic questioning.

Decide what you are not selling

Be explicit about anything excluded: your personal API keys, a domain you intend to keep, client relationships or reusable components you want to use again. Ambiguity here is the most common cause of disagreements at handover, and it is entirely avoidable by writing it down.

Common questions

Do not hand over anything before the escrow is funded. The payment is collected first, then you transfer, then it is released on confirmation.
Whatever the listing promises, typically source, prompts, configuration and documentation. List inclusions and exclusions explicitly rather than relying on assumption.
Products with recurring revenue price on a multiple of that revenue. One-off tools price closer to what it would cost a buyer to build. Comparable listings are the most practical guide.
Only if you agreed to. Any handover support period should be stated in the listing, including its length and what it covers.
The buyer pays into escrow before you transfer anything, and the money is released to your wallet when they confirm receipt. You are never handing over an account on the promise of a payment, and the funds held for your deal are not something the buyer can pull back through their bank.
The funds stay in escrow while a moderator reviews the deal chat, the listing and any evidence either side uploads, then decides the outcome. An accurate listing and a handover done inside the deal chat are what protect you, because they are the record the moderator reads.
